Worship

Worship at BSLC is designed for each individual to connect with God and for us to connect with God as a community.  Services include both traditional hymns and more contemporary hymns.  A printed worship folder guides us through the order of service, making it easy to follow along.   We join in Holy Communion each week.  Most worshipers dress casually for Sunday services.  It is common to see people in jeans, shorts, casual shirts and T-shirts.  Some people prefer to dress more formally.

Children

Children are welcome during worship services!  Worshipping as a family and modeling the practice of faith is one of the best gifts we give our children.  Each service includes the Children’s Sermon and there are coloring books and crayons to borrow while at church.  Children six and under are also welcome in the Nursery where staff care for children while their parents worship.

Holy Communion

All who hunger for God’s grace and healing are welcome to come to the altar and receive Holy Communion.  In this holy meal, Jesus is present to feed and strengthen us. When you come to the altar you may either kneel or stand.  The wine will be offered to you from the Common Cup, which symbolizes our unity in Christ.  Or, if you prefer, you may take an individual glass from the Communion tray in the center of the aisle as you come forward.  The clear plastic glasses in the inner ring of the tray contain dark grape juice.  Children are invited forward with their families to receive either Communion or a blessing.  If you are unable to walk to the altar, Communion will be brought to you at your seat.

Ephesians 2:19: So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are citizens with the saints and also members of the household of God.
